Cookies & privacy

What we collect, and what we don't.

We try to keep this short and honest. If you visit from the EU, EEA, or UK, you'll see a banner asking whether analytics may run. If you visit from anywhere else, anonymized analytics runs by default. Either way, we don't sell or share your data, and we don't run advertising cookies.

The short version

One analytics tool (Google Analytics 4), configured with IP anonymization and Consent Mode v2. No advertising cookies. No third-party trackers. No data sale. No profile building.

What gets set, exactly

Cookies set by this site directly

None. The site is static HTML. We don't run a session, a login, or a server-side state machine.

Browser storage we use

One localStorage key: slm_consent. It stores your banner choice (the string "granted" or "denied") so we don't keep asking. It's first-party, readable only by this site, and never leaves your browser.

Cookies set by Google Analytics (after you accept)

If you accept analytics, Google sets these on this domain:

Before you accept (and for all EU visitors who decline), Google Analytics runs in Consent Mode v2 — it sends an anonymous ping with no cookies, no user identifiers, and no PII. We see aggregate traffic counts only. Google's documentation on Consent Mode.

Why we collect any of this

To know which pages get read, which posts land, which referrers send qualified founders. It's the difference between writing into the void and writing into a room where we can hear whether anyone laughed. We don't use it for retargeting, lookalike audiences, or paid ads.

Changing your choice

If you're in the EU/EEA/UK and want to change your earlier decision, clear the slm_consent key from your browser storage (DevTools → Application → Local Storage) or clear your cookies for this domain. The banner will reappear on your next visit.

If you'd like us to delete any data Google may hold about your visit, email matt@salesledmarketing.com with the approximate date and we'll process the deletion request via the GA admin console.

Your rights under GDPR / UK-GDPR / CCPA

If you're a resident of the EU, EEA, UK, California, or any other jurisdiction with a comparable privacy law: you have the right to ask what we hold about you, ask us to delete it, and complain to your local data protection authority. For this site, "what we hold" is the aggregate analytics pings described above — we don't have a customer database tied to your visit.

To exercise any of these rights, email matt@salesledmarketing.com.
