Comparisons

You're stack-ranking three to five alternatives. Here are the honest ones.

A founder evaluating us isn't choosing between us and "doing nothing." Below: the four alternatives we lose to most often, and the cases where you should pick them instead of us.

The comparisons below are for the Build (Stage 1), the foundational 12-week engagement. Comparisons specifically for Video (vs. content agencies / VAs / in-house clip teams) and Training (vs. Sandler / Tony Robbins / cohort courses) live on each service page.

01

vs. Hiring a CMO

Pick a CMO if you're hiring for the next decade.

Sales-Led MarketingA CMO hire
First-year cost$40K$200 to $280K plus benefits
Time to first shipWeek 4 (first video live)Month 6 to 9 (after team-build)
POVSales-rooted, narrow, opinionatedWhatever the hire brings
Ongoing commitment12 weeks plus a 90-day weekly check-in call afterIndefinite
Internal political costLow (we're outside)High (reorg of marketing function)

Pick the CMO if…

  • You need a permanent leader who'll own brand equity for the next 5 to 10 years.
  • You have hires reporting up through marketing already and need a manager.
  • The category is broad enough that "find the POV" is itself a 12-month job.

Pick us if…

  • You want category, POV, and the asset library that proves it, all locked in twelve weeks.
  • You want pipeline measurable in 90 days, not 9 months.
  • You don't want to manage another headcount.

02

vs. A digital agency

Pick an agency if you need polish more than pipeline.

Sales-Led MarketingSenior digital agency
Lead engineSales-rooted: rep on camera, content sequenced for trustBrand-rooted: paid plus earned, sequenced for impressions
Production polishPhone-shot, deliberately roughStudio-grade, brand-consistent
Paid mediaNone included; we don't run itUsually a core service
Engagement length12 weeks, then we leaveOpen-ended retainer
Who's on cameraYour reps and your founderOften nobody. Agency-produced assets.

Pick the agency if…

  • Your reps will not be on camera under any circumstances.
  • You need brand-system work (guidelines, ID, web design) done before content can ship.
  • You need paid-media management and don't want to build it in-house.

Pick us if…

  • You measure marketing in pipeline, not impressions.
  • You'd rather your buyers see the rep than the agency's production.
  • You want the engagement to end.

03

vs. An SDR / outbound firm

Pick an SDR firm if your buyers are named and finite.

Sales-Led MarketingSDR / outbound firm
How buyers find youThey warm on your content first, then bookYou interrupt them with cold outreach
First-meeting stateEducated, often pre-soldCold; rep does the educating
Ramp time8 to 12 weeks to library plus diagnostic live2 to 3 weeks to first cold meetings
What scalesAsset library compounds over yearsOutput is linear with rep headcount
What it replacesRep-driven prospecting, marketing-led "leads"Internal SDR team, cold-call hours

Pick the SDR firm if…

  • You sell ABM-style to a finite, named list of accounts.
  • You need pipeline activity this month, not in 60 days.
  • Your buyers don't research online. They buy through relationships and RFPs.

Pick us if…

  • Your buyers do research. They read, watch, scroll, before they ever take a meeting.
  • You want to stop your reps from cold-prospecting their own pipeline.
  • You want compounding pipeline, not a treadmill.

04

vs. Doing nothing

The most popular choice. Worth taking seriously.

The honest comparison: most $10-25M companies do nothing systematic about this. Reps prospect their own pipeline. The agency invoice keeps coming. The CFO has stopped asking. It's not unworkable, just fragile.

When doing nothing is the right call

  • Pipeline is healthy, reps are not burning out, you're hitting plan.
  • You're inside 60 days of a financing round and adding spend is off the table.
  • Your category is too small or too quiet for content to find you.

When doing nothing stops being the right call

  • You've lost two reps in the last six months citing prospecting fatigue.
  • Your agency reports "MQLs" but your reps say none of them close.
  • The CFO has stopped asking about marketing ROI because nobody likes the answer.
  • Your competitors are publishing content under the founder's name, weekly.

If three of those four are true, doing nothing is now an active choice.
